Business in Rwanda and the international view

If things were working in a normal way they do, Rwanda would not be what it is now, only 18 years after the 1994 Genocide. Among other areas of improvement, the country’s economic progress is manifested through her acknowledged ease of doing business. In reference to publications in the area of doing business, the country is perceived as conducive based on the annual locally produced data by Rwanda Governance Board,and the World Bank’s annual report on doing business—continued progress is registered. This paper analyses the status of doing business in Rwanda mainly in reference to The Global Competitiveness Report (GCR), Ibrahim index of Africa Governance (IIAG), Index of Economic Freedom, Ease of doing business index and the locally, annually produced Rwanda Governance Scorecard. Rwanda’ Performance on Legatum Prosperity Index 2011: An Insight from within

The Legatum Prosperity Index is an annual ranking that covers 110 countries. The Legatum Institute, the publisher of the index, is a privately-funded think-tank founded in 2007.
