Deputy CEO Dr. USENGUMUKIZA attends the launch of the capacity-building program for Rwandan media professionals

Today, May 27, 2026, the Deputy CEO of RGB Dr. USENGUMUKIZA Felicien attended the official launch of the capacity-building program for Rwandan media professionals. The project aims to equip local professionals with the tools needed to address modern media challenges.

Speaking to the participants, Dr. USENGUMUKIZA stated that, in a regional and global context marked by the rapid circulation of information, as well as the proliferation of misinformation and hate speech, the role of the media has never been more crucial.

“Rwanda, which has chosen a development path based on good governance, inclusion, and accountability, needs a strong, professional, and ethical media sector” he said.

“Beyond strengthening individual skills, this project will contribute to building a more resilient media ecosystem, capable of producing reliable, rigorous, and accessible information for all citizens”

This project therefore comes to address clearly identified challenges, including:
• the need to strengthen skills in information verification,
• the capacity to analyze and interpret data,
• and above all, the necessity to promote gender equality in the media and to further support women journalists in their professional careers.
