RGB and its partners commemorate the 1994 Genocide Against Tutsi

On Wednesday May 22, 2024 at Kigali Memorial Site located at Gisozi, the Staff and senior management from Civil Society Organizations networks both RCSP and NINGOs in Rwanda in collaboration with the Rwanda Governance Board and United Nations Development Program jointly commemorated the 1994 Genocide Against Tutsi.

This event started by having a guided tour inside the memorial, whereby the staff and their senior management were given a historic insight on the history of Rwanda before and after the 1994 Genocide Against Tusti, and on the key events that sow the seed of divisionism, discrimination, radicalization thus destroying social unity of Rwandans and eventually escalating into the Genocide, leaving the country in total ruins.

After touring the memorial, wreath laid on the grave where bodies of the genocide victims are laid to rest.

In his remarks, the RGB Deputy CEO Dr. Usengumukiza Felécien said that kwibuka is a core responsibility of everyone, both as individuals and institutions level. He also noted that RGB and its partners from CSOs and media are committed to jointly conduct this event every year as a sign of solidarity to the survivors of the Genocide.
