On this Friday 27 February 2026, the RGB Chief Executive Officer Dr. Doris Uwicyeza Picard delivered an insightful and inspiring lecture to the students of African School of Governance, sharing valuable perspectives on leadership, good governance principals and the importance of accountability and resilience in nation-building.
In her inspiring message, the CEO Dr. Doris showed the students how Rwanda was rebuilt by good leadership after the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi, through home-grown solutions initiatives which helped the country to reach to the current development.
She also shared practical insights drawn from Rwanda’s governance journey, emphasizing the importance of transparency, institutional effectiveness, and inclusive participation in building resilient and responsive public institutions. She highlighted how strong governance frameworks can drive sustainable development and foster trust between citizens and the state.
The lecture also provided an opportunity for students to engage in an interactive discussion on contemporary governance challenges across the continent. Participants explored topics such as civic engagement, exploring some RGB mandates, and the role of public institutions in promoting social and economic transformation.
Students of the African School of Governance expressed appreciation for the session, noting that the lecture offered both practical lessons and inspiration for their future careers in governance and public policy.
