The RGB CEO Dr. KAITESI urges African religious leaders to protect environment
On this Wednesday, November 8 2023, the CEO of RGB Dr. KAITESI Usta delivered an opening remark at the 4th African Union Interfaith Dialogue Forum General Assembly held at Kigali.
In her remarks, Dr. KAITESI appreciated the African Union Interfaith Dialogue Forum for organizing this forum which is an opportunity for seating together, speaking the same language and understand one another to discuss the issues affect people they lead in their respective faith.
Basing on the 4th General Assembly’s theme which is “Faith in Harvest: Sowing Seeds of Climate Resilience”, Dr. KAITESI urged the participants to keep thinking of how to protect the environment and the impact of climate change as a big problem that the world is facing.
“Climate change is an existential challenge we no longer understand the seasons of cultivation on the continent because climate change has been real, climate change has come number one threat for cultivation and it means number one for our survival” she said.
“Rwanda is committed to have an Africa we want, an Africa with good governance, an Africa with resilience with people that are resilient, a climate that is resilient and economy that is resilient. If the future of the humankind is going to be safe the future of Africans must be safe as well”. She added
African Union Interfaith Dialogue Forum brings together all interreligious councils from the 55 member states of the African Union.
